Full -Time Shift Joiner
Location: Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert, FK5 4EB
Salary: £30,353.00 - £33,016.00 per annum Agenda for Change – on call allowance between £4,969.63 to £5,403.83. Shift allowance is paid in addition to the salary as well as overtime at enhanced rates.
Schedule: Full-time, working a mixture of Dayshift, Back shift and Night shift, including weekends across a 6‑week rotating shift pattern (averaging 36 hours per week).

As a Full-Time Shift Joiner in our Forth Valley Hospital team, you’ll help keep the hospital environment safe, functional, and well maintained so colleagues and patients can rely on spaces that work exactly as they should.
Your work will have a direct positive impact on the community by helping create safe, compliant, and well cared-for facilities. You’ll play a part in ensuring the hospital can keep delivering essential care, every day.
What you’ll do as a Full-Time Shift Joiner
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the hospital estate.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks and joinery repairs.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain doors, fixtures, fittings, and general joinery installations.
- Carry out inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire doors where required.
- Receive, manage, and close out work orders through the site Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.
- Accurately record completed work, materials used, and follow-on tasks within the CAFM system.
- Ensure all tasks comply with health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Maintain a tidy and safe workspace and report hazards or defects promptly.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the maintenance team and wider hospital environment.
- Support compliance with relevant healthcare building standards and regulations.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- A recognised qualification or time-served background as a Joiner or Carpenter.
- Experience carrying out both PPM and reactive maintenance.
- Experience using a CAFM system.
- Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities within a maintenance environment.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently during shift operations.
- Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe environment.
Vetting and checks:
This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme, which involves a detailed check of spent and unspent convictions and other relevant information to ensure safeguarding compliance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can provide any necessary support to help you carry out your responsibilities.
