As an Inventory Operative in our AASC Inventory Team, you'll help ensure the safe and reliable transportation of passengers, household goods, and essential items across the East Midlands, West Midlands, and East of England. Your work has purpose, supporting people who rely on vital services while helping us deliver a positive impact on communities.

Working across the region, you'll play a key role in maintaining trust, care, and safety in every journey. From supporting passengers and their families to ensuring vehicles remain compliant and roadworthy, you'll help create impactful solutions that keep services running smoothly while contributing to a better future.

 

What you’ll do as an Inventory Operative

  • Safely drive company vehicles in line with legislation, company policies, and operational procedures.
  • Transport and assemble household furniture, appliances, and other items as required.
  • Planning delivery routes and completing deliveries on time.
  • Returning unused or damaged stock to the warehouse
  • Carry out daily vehicle inspections, report defects, and arrange servicing and MOT requirements where necessary.
  • Providing good customer service at delivery locations.
  • Follow road, workplace, and health & safety regulations.
  • Complete accurate documentation and use internal IT systems for administration and journey reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with operational teams, stakeholders, and external agencies to support service delivery.

 

Does this sound like you?

  • Experience in a driving or customer service role
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Able to prioritise workloads, solve problems, and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
  • Organised, dependable, and committed to delivering excellent service with integrity and care.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other digital tools.
  • Full UK Category B driving licence.
  • Good understanding of UK driving regulations and road safety requirements.

Vetting and checks:

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards, and a Basic DBS check which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
