Here at Serco Leisure, we are seeking an experienced Management Accountant who be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial and management information across a portfolio of contracts to the Leisure Senior Team, assisting where necessary to enable them to make well informed business decisions.
You will take full ownership of the management and financial reporting for the contract portfolio and line management responsibility for at least one Assistant Management Accountant. You will play a vital role in communicating financial insight to the business.
Your main responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely financial reporting including the production of monthly accounts with insightful and actionable commentary on key business drivers
- Line management of at least one Assistant Management Accountant to include mentoring and development
- Multi-contract responsibility
- Overall responsibility for contract balance sheets to include monthly reviews, detailed quarterly reviews and actions to clear
- Responsibility for accurate completion of VAT Returns
- Accountability for year end and successful completion of audited financial statements for contract portfolio
- Active involvement in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support contract teams with some requirement for travel as appropriate
- Production of Trust reports and information as required
- Promote and lead on continuous improvement of financial processes
- Development and maintenance of Billing Handover Schedules
- Cash management for contract portfolio
About you
What you will need to do the role:
- A professional qualification (CIMA or ACCA) with a recognised accounting body along with relevant experience in finance teams is essential
- Track record of collaborating with business leaders in a complex business environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the business within their scope of responsibility.
- Evidence of ability to influence, negotiate, listen to and resolve conflicts with key decision makers
- Ability to highlight problems, offer innovative and practical solutions, and drive through their execution.
