Ready to impact a better future?

As a Public Protection and VISOR Case Administrator in our Justice and Immigration team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Public Protection Unit by managing sensitive information, coordinating with internal and external agencies, and helping ensure safeguarding responsibilities are delivered effectively. Your work will contribute to the protection of children, vulnerable individuals, and the wider public.

This is a role where your work has purpose. Through careful administration, attention to detail, and a commitment to safeguarding, you’ll help create positive outcomes both within the prison environment and beyond. Working closely with operational colleagues and partner agencies, you’ll support processes that build trust, strengthen public protection, and help impact a better future.

What you’ll do as a Public Protection and VISOR Case Administrator

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Process child contact applications in line with Public Protection Manual requirements and liaise with relevant external agencies.
  • Gather, collate, and prepare sensitive information from prisoner records for appropriate internal and external sharing.
  • Monitor telephone calls and incoming and outgoing mail, identifying and reporting intelligence where necessary.
  • Ensure all monitoring activities comply with legislation, policies, and authorised procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of monitoring activity and ensure information is stored securely.
  • Complete relevant checks for prisoners with restrictions before approved contacts are added.
  • Support intelligence gathering activities alongside the Police Information Officer and Security teams.
  • Assist with public protection processes and support key aspects of the parole process within the prison estate.

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • The highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, visitors, prisoners, and external agencies.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to monitor, review, and audit information accurately.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a wider team.
  • An understanding of working in a secure environment, or a willingness to learn.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting positive outcomes for individuals and communities.
