Ready to impact a better future?

As a Driver in our London Cycle Hire Scheme (LCHS) team, you’ll help keep the city moving by ensuring bicycles are where they’re needed most. Your work will directly support thousands of daily journeys and contribute to a transport network that touches lives across London.
Every shift creates opportunities to make a positive impact — helping commuters, visitors, and communities travel safely and sustainably.

What you’ll do as a Driver

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Redistribute bicycles across London using real‑time network information
  • Provide rapid response to meet changing customer demand throughout the day
  • Carry out daily vehicle and trailer checks before each shift begins
  • Engage with members of the public, clients, or sponsors in a professional and supportive way, escalating queries to the Team Leader when needed
  • Complete required paperwork accurately, legibly, and on time
  • Work in line with all statutory, regulatory, and internal policies, including Health and Safety, ISO9001‑2008, SMS, IT and Security, and Environmental requirements

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • A clean, full UK manual driving licence (held for 1 year)
  • Experience driving in central London
  • An interest in undertaking training such as bikeability and safe driving techniques (full training provided)
  • Willingness to learn basic bicycle repairs to manufacturer standards (training provided)
  • Awareness of the London Cycle Hire Scheme performance requirements (training provided)

This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
