Salary: £30,784 pro rata plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working alternating weekly shifts, 7am to 3.30pm and 11am to 7.30pm

As an On Street Maintenance Operative in our Cycle Hire team, you’ll help keep London’s cycle hire scheme safe, clean, and available for the communities that rely on it every day. Your work will support customers across the city while ensuring cycle hire stations and bicycles remain operational and ready to use.
Every day brings something different. From maintaining docking stations and carrying out minor cycle repairs to redistributing bicycles and supporting customers, you’ll play a hands-on role in creating impactful solutions that keep people moving. What you’ll do as an On Street Maintenance Operative
- Clean and maintain cycle hire docking stations to agreed standards.
- Use vehicles, equipment, tools, and cleaning materials safely and effectively.
- Carry out hub duties, including moving and redistributing bicycles across key locations.
- Complete minor bicycle maintenance and repairs on street.
- Collect abandoned and damaged bicycles as directed by the Control Room.
- Provide excellent customer service and engage positively with members of the public.

- You have strong communication and people skills and enjoy working with customers.
- You have knowledge of health and safety requirements in an operational environment.
- You have experience using tools, equipment, or cleaning materials safely and effectively.
- You have a genuine interest in cycling and experience riding or working with bicycles.
- You’re flexible, resilient, and comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.

Vetting and checks:
This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
