Salary: £31,694 per year

 

Here at Serco we’re looking for an Operational Support Officer to act as the main point of contact for all staff and visitors, working in the control room, monitoring CCTV and radio systems, alerting staff when alarms are raised and completing all necessary paperwork.

 

As part of this you’ll:

  • Give access to both visitors and staff, including searching of vehicles and staff when required to do so.
  • Assist with the escorting of vehicles around the establishment and assist in the Command suite if required to do so.
  • Allocate BWVC and be responsible for the equipment.
  • Be involved in Exercises and contingency planning.

 

What you’ll need to do the role

First and foremost, you’ll ideally have worked in a secure environment or similar, however this is not essential as full training will be provided. It would also be advantageous if you have knowledge of various security procedures.

 

The successful applicant will be computer literate, flexible, organised, efficient and reliable. We are looking for someone that can communicate at all levels, build strong working relationships and be a successful part of an ever-growing team.

 

This role would involve working different shift patterns which will include nights and weekends.

This role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship under current UK Home Office rules, as it does not meet the required salary or skill level criteria. Whilst we encourage applications to other roles, candidates who already have a valid right to work in the UK through other immigration routes or permissions must meet the below minimum eligibility criteria: 

  • Have at least two years remaining on your current visa to ensure sufficient time in the role. 
  • Have lived in the UK for at least one year, as the vetting process requires a counter-signatory from a recognised professional who has known you for that duration.
