What you’ll do as a Senior Duty Manager
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Lead the facility on a day-to-day basis, ensuring safety is always the first priority
- Manage and motivate the operational team to deliver high standards of service, cleanliness and presentation
- Oversee staffing, rotas and cost control, supporting financial targets and budget management
- Take control during incidents and emergencies, leading responses and follow-up investigations where required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding and statutory requirements across the site
- Maintain a visible leadership presence, responding positively to customer feedback and operational challenges

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Experience managing or supervising operations within a leisure or similar customer-focused environment
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical application
- Confidence leading teams, managing performance and supporting colleague development
- Excellent customer care and communication skills, with a calm approach under pressure
- The ability to balance operational detail with a big-picture focus on service quality and community impact
- The Senior Duty Manager will possess a Royal Lifesaving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and a First Aid at Work Certificate.
- A Pool Plant Operators Certificate is essential; training will be available.
An NPLQ Trainer Assessor qualification is desirable. - A Level 4 Qualification in a relevant discipline is also desirable.
A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
