Salary: £25,272 pro rata (based on 20 hours per week) plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Permanent, Part-time, 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2.30pm to 6.30pm

As a Waste Hospital Porter in our Health team, you’ll provide a vital portering and waste management service that helps the hospital operate safely, efficiently, and effectively. You'll play an important role in supporting patient care by ensuring waste, supplies, and equipment are transported professionally and in line with safety and environmental standards.

What you’ll do as a Waste Management Porter

• Transport waste, goods, and supplies safely across the hospital site using appropriate equipment, including tow tractors.
• Collect, transfer, and dispose of general, clinical, and specialist waste in line with site procedures and regulations.
• Support the delivery of fluids and supplies to wards and departments as required.
• Maintain portering equipment in a clean, hygienic, and serviceable condition, reporting any defects promptly.
• Follow all health, safety, infection prevention, environmental, and quality procedures to ensure safe service delivery.
• Work closely with colleagues and management to maintain service standards, report issues, and support continuous improvement.

• You can work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a busy hospital environment.
• You understand the importance of patient care, infection control, health and safety, and maintaining high standards.
• You have a flexible, reliable approach and can adapt to changing priorities and shift patterns.
• You are comfortable undertaking a physically active role involving manual handling and working throughout the hospital site.
