As a Campsite Warden in our Leisure team, you’ll help create a welcoming, safe and well‑maintained environment for all campsite users at the National Water Sports Centre. You’ll be a visible, friendly presence on site, supporting guests throughout their stay and ensuring the campsite operates smoothly and safely.
Your work will help create impactful solutions by delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, and supporting a positive experience for visitors enjoying outdoor activities. Every interaction you have will help foster trust, care and pride in the services we provide.
What you’ll do as a Campsite Warden
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Provide front‑line customer service in the campsite shop and act as a key point of contact for guests.
- Patrol the campsite regularly to ensure safety, cleanliness and compliance with the campsite code of practice.
- Take bookings in person, over the phone and online, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Provide clear and helpful information about campsite facilities and services.
- Handle cash and PDQ transactions responsibly and accurately.
- Deal with first‑line customer enquiries and complaints in a calm and professional manner.
- Monitor campsite facilities daily, including toilets, showers, service points and communal areas, to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Clean customer‑critical areas such as toilets and shared spaces, and empty bins as required.
- Ensure pitches, roadways and common areas are tidy, safe and accessible.
- Promote a friendly, inclusive and customer‑focused atmosphere across the site.
- Follow safe working practices including PPE use, COSHH and manual handling guidelines.
- Report defects, maintenance issues and health and safety concerns promptly.
- Support stock control and stocktaking for the campsite shop.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Flexible to work including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Good customer service and communication skills, with experience working with the public preferred.
- A friendly, approachable and professional manner.
- The ability to work independently and use your initiative.
- A practical, hands‑on approach and enjoyment of outdoor work.
- A calm and mature approach when dealing with issues or pressure.
- Basic IT or booking system skills and confidence handling cash.
- Reliability, organisation and a flexible approach to working hours.
Vetting and checks:
As well as checking eligibility to work in the UK, you will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
