As a Senior Contract Manager in our Environmental Services team, you’ll lead the delivery of complex local authority waste, recycling, and street cleansing services, ensuring high operational performance, strong customer outcomes, and sustainable growth. You’ll oversee large frontline teams, manage commercial performance, and drive continuous improvement across the contract.

This is a role where your work has purpose. Working alongside colleagues, customers, and stakeholders, you’ll help create impactful solutions that support a better future.

What you’ll do as a Senior Contract Manager

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Lead the operational delivery of waste, recycling, and cleansing services, ensuring contractual obligations, performance targets, and customer expectations are met.
  • Manage financial and operational performance, delivering against budgets, profit targets, and efficiency objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and service transformation to meet future challenges and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, local authorities, trade unions, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • Champion a strong health, safety, environmental, and compliance culture across all operations.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire managers and frontline teams, creating an inclusive, high-performance culture focused on growth and excellent service delivery.

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Proven experience leading large operational teams within a complex contract environment.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and people development skills.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and delivering business performance.
  • Experience working with trade unions, customers, and multiple stakeholders in a service-led environment.
  • A management qualification or degree-level qualification, strong IT skills, and ideally experience within environmental, waste, recycling, or local government services.
