Salary: Paying up to £12.21 per hour depending on experience, plus excellent benefits

As a Casual Café Assistant in our Leisure team, you’ll help create a welcoming environment for customers while supporting the smooth operation of our café services and providing safe, engaging childcare for visiting families. Your role ensures visitors enjoy great service and peace of mind every time.
You’ll play an important part in making our leisure facilities a place where communities can connect and thrive. By delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high standards, and caring for children in a safe, fun environment, you’ll help us create spaces that people love to visit.
What you’ll do as a Casual Café Assistant
You’ll be entrusted to:
• Prepare and serve food and drinks to customers in line with hygiene and safety standards
• Maintain a clean and organised café environment, including tables, counters, and equipment
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately and responsibly
• Provide friendly, helpful service to all visitors, answering questions and resolving issues promptly
• Support stock management, including ordering and replenishment
• Deliver safe and engaging childcare for visiting customers’ children while they use the leisure facilities
• Follow health and safety policies to ensure a safe environment for colleagues, customers, and children

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
• Previous experience in a catering or childcare environment
• Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to work well as part of a team and remain calm under pressure
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent customer service
• Awareness of safeguarding and child safety practices
This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
