Leisure Assistant
Location: Shrewsbury Sports Village, Sundorne Road, Shrewsbury SY1 4RQ
Salary: £12.71per hour plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Casual contract, working a mixture of days, evenings and weekends, shifts varying hours between 8.30am – 10pm.

As a Leisure Assistant in our leisure services team, you’ll play a vital role in creating safe, welcoming and enjoyable environments where customers can stay active, social and healthy. Your work will directly support positive experiences for the communities we serve, every day.
You’ll be hands-on across the centre, supporting activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and helping to ensure every customer feels cared for, valued and safe. Whether you’re supporting a session, preparing equipment or assisting customers, your work has purpose and a positive impact on local communities.
What you’ll do as a Leisure Assistant
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Supervise leisure activities, ensuring customer safety and enjoyment at all times
- Follow health and safety procedures, policies and legislation to maintain a safe environment
- Set up, handle and store equipment safely and correctly
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation across activity areas and facilities
- Deliver friendly, professional customer service to a wide range of customers
- Support the daily operation of the centre in line with contract and organisational standards
