Salary: £13.17 per hour + Unsocial Enhancements (from 20:00 pm) = + £4.61 per hour - Agenda for Change Band 3 - plus Serco benefits
Schedule: 30 hours per week Monday – Friday 14.30-21.00

As a Domestic Patient Ambassador in our Health team, you’ll help create a safe, welcoming, and well‑maintained environment for patients, colleagues, and visitors. Your work will directly support high‑quality care by keeping clinical and public spaces clean, comfortable, and ready for use when people need them most.
You’ll play a key part in delivering essential cleaning services, supporting colleagues, and maintaining high standards across the hospital. With every interaction, you’ll help create positive experiences for patients and contribute to a healthier future for the community you serve.
What you’ll do as a Domestic Patient Ambassador
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Support and guide cleaning colleagues, ensuring they are prepared, presentable, and ready for duty.
- Oversee day‑to‑day cleaning standards and complete safety observations.
- Monitor stock levels, equipment, and machinery, ensuring everything is safe, maintained, and fit for purpose.
- Deliver training, toolbox talks, and onboarding support for new colleagues.
- Conduct audits, daily handovers, callbacks, and return‑to‑work conversations, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Build a customer‑focused team, address issues promptly, and share positive feedback with ward staff.
- Maintain strong communication through huddles, meetings with clinical teams, and regular one‑to‑one catch‑ups.

- Experience in cleaning, facilities, or a similar customer‑focused environment.
- Confidence supporting and motivating colleagues, with a positive and proactive approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted working relationships.
- An eye for detail and the drive to maintain high cleaning standards.
- A commitment to safety, quality, and creating positive experiences for patients and colleagues.
Vetting and checks:
A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
