As a Travel Coordinator in our Defence Academy Support Services team, you’ll deliver efficient and compliant travel solutions for customers across the Defence Academy. Your work will help people get where they need to be safely, cost-effectively and on time, supporting learning, operations and wider organisational outcomes.

What you’ll do as a Travel Coordinator
- Deliver accurate and timely UK and overseas travel arrangements in line with Ministry of Defence (MOD), Defence Academy and Serco requirements.
- Source and recommend travel solutions that balance value for money, sustainability and operational requirements.
- Coordinate large group travel bookings and act as a key point of contact for course leaders and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate travel, financial and audit records using systems including SharePoint and travel management tools.
- Prepare reports, reconcile invoices and support budget monitoring activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, colleague knowledge sharing and service innovation.
Does this sound like you?
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to explain information clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; experience with Teams and SharePoint would be advantageous.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and delivering great customer service.

Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
