Location: HMP Dovegate, Uttoxeter, ST14 8XR
Salary: £26,510 per annum, plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Monday to Friday- 40 hours per week

As a Governance Administrator in our Justice and Immigration team, you’ll help ensure the highest standards of compliance and performance across the site, supporting a safe, secure and respectful environment. Your work will directly support operational excellence and continuous improvement across the prison.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining robust audit processes and governance controls, helping to create a positive impact on the lives of those in custody and the colleagues who support them. By strengthening compliance and quality assurance, you’ll contribute to a rehabilitative environment where standards are upheld, and improvement is continuous.

 

What you’ll do as a Governance Administrator


You’ll be entrusted to:

 

  • Maintain the self-audit programme based on local risk assessments
  • Coordinate audit activities and ensure timely completion across all functions
  • Provide quality assurance across all aspects of the audit process
  • Support governance activities as directed by the Governance and Compliance Manager
  • Manage tracking and rectification of non-compliance with stakeholders
  • Undertake internal audits and produce clear reports and action plans
  • Support external inspections including Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons (HMIP)
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

 

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to work with a wide range of people

 

Vetting and checks:


An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
