Ready to impact a better future?

As an Interventions Facilitator in our Psychological Services team, you’ll play a meaningful role in supporting rehabilitation and reducing reoffending. You’ll deliver accredited and non‑accredited offending behaviour programmes, working directly with individuals to help them develop insight, skills and motivation for positive change.

Your work will help create impactful solutions by supporting a rehabilitative culture within HMP Dovegate. Through skilled facilitation, evidence‑based practice and reflective learning, you’ll contribute to safer communities and better long‑term outcomes for the people our services touch.

What you’ll do as an Interventions Facilitator

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Deliver accredited and non‑accredited offending behaviour programmes in line with programme manuals, standards and guidelines.
  • Apply and develop skills across the five core competencies that underpin effective programme delivery, including planning, engagement and responsive facilitation.
  • Complete assessments with potential participants to assess readiness for treatment and identify responsivity needs.
  • Facilitate group and individual sessions, using motivational approaches to encourage engagement and learning.
  • Complete session notes, post‑programme reports, debriefs and reviews in a timely and accurate way.
  • Attend and actively contribute to regular supervision to support learning and professional development.
  • Undertake core skills training and programme‑specific training relevant to the Interventions Facilitator role.
  • Keep up to date with mandatory training and relevant developments within the establishment.
  • Promote offending behaviour programmes within HMP Dovegate and support staff awareness through appropriate engagement and training.
  • Carry out additional tasks as identified by the Treatment Manager or Head of Psychological Services to support department and establishment priorities.

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Experience working with people in custody or within a secure or community setting.
  • An understanding of offending behaviour programmes and the principles behind effective rehabilitation.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to reflect on your own practice and actively seek feedback to improve your facilitation skills.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, participants and multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Motivational skills that support engagement and learning.
  • A commitment to maintaining professional standards, policies and legislation relevant to the role.
  • Experience delivering group‑based interventions (desirable).

This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements.
