Location: HMP Dovegate, Uttoxeter, ST14 8XR
Schedule: Permanent, Full Time, – 40 hours per week
Salary: Band 5/ Up to £45,000 per annum, dependant on experience + excellent benefits

As a TC Forensic Psychologist in our Psychological Services team, you'll play a key role in delivering psychological services within the Therapeutic Community at HMP Dovegate. You'll use your expertise to support assessment, intervention, risk management and rehabilitation activity that helps individuals make positive changes and progress towards a safer future.

Your work has purpose, supporting safer communities through evidence-based psychological practice while helping individuals address offending behaviour, reduce risk and build a more positive future.
What you'll do as a TC Forensic Psychologist
- Deliver psychological assessments including HCR-20, SARA, WAIS, IPDE and PCL-R assessments as required.
- Facilitate therapy groups and support residents throughout their therapeutic journey, including community meetings and risk reduction work.
- Complete parole reports, parole directions and other clinical reports within required deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare, offender management, education and other professionals to support resident outcomes.
- Provide supervision and line management support to Forensic Psychologists in Training where appropriate.
- Support the delivery and continuous improvement of Psychological Services within the Therapeutic Community.
Does this sound like you?
- Registered Forensic Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or a Forensic Psychologist in Training who has completed the required stage of qualification and is close to registration.
- Experience working with offenders and delivering psychological assessment and intervention within a forensic setting.
- Strong report-writing, communication and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and build trusting professional relationships.
- Knowledge of psychological approaches to violent offending, personality disorders and therapeutic interventions.

Vetting and checks:
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
