VIVO is seeking a proactive and analytically minded Finance Business Analyst to join our dynamic finance function and play a pivotal role in connecting financial insight with operational performance. This role offers the opportunity to work across a complex, fast-paced business environment, supporting strategic decision-making, driving process improvements, and ensuring the highest standards of financial control and integrity.
As the Finance Business Analyst, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of operational processes and their impact on the financial landscape of the business. You will work closely with Finance Business Partners, Commercial teams, and operational leaders to interrogate data from multiple systems—including SAP, Maximo, and supplier applications—to ensure accuracy, transparency, and meaningful analysis of financial results.
Your analytical expertise will enable you to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across key performance areas, using financial data and KPIs to provide actionable insights that support profitability, compliance, and strategic delivery. You will play an active role in reviewing operational performance, understanding the drivers behind financial outcomes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and commercial success.
You will support the prioritisation and workflow management of the Built Estates Finance Team, ensuring that resources are effectively deployed to expedite resolution of key issues and deliverables. Through collaboration with Finance Business Partners across various contracts, you will gain a deep understanding of contract-specific nuances, enabling you to provide tailored, accurate financial insights.
A crucial aspect of this role involves working closely with the Commercial and Billable Works Teams, ensuring that revenue recognition, cost allocation, and work-in-progress reporting are accurate and aligned with business activity. You will contribute to the preparation and review of statutory accounts, assist with forecasting and budgeting cycles, and support the delivery of financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
As part of your remit, you will take ownership of ensuring that financial records—covering balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, and forecasts—are accurate, compliant, and complete. You will uphold strong financial governance and control, maintaining alignment with IFRS and company standards. You will also be instrumental in identifying and mitigating financial risks while highlighting opportunities for growth and operational optimisation.
In addition, you will contribute to risk and opportunity reviews, providing analytical support to business leads and Operations Directors, and taking an active role in relevant senior team meetings. By building strong relationships across the organisation, you will act as a trusted advisor—bridging finance, operations, and strategy to enhance overall business performance.
You will also support continuous process improvement, leveraging your technical and analytical skills to drive automation, enhance reporting capabilities, and streamline financial workflows for greater accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
The ideal candidate will hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) and be either newly qualified or in the early stages of developing their business partnering experience. You will bring a strong understanding of technical accounting principles under IFRS, along with an ability to apply financial insight to commercial and operational contexts.
You should be confident working with complex data, with advanced Excel skills and the ability to manipulate, interpret, and present financial information concisely. Experience with SAP systems and interfaces is desirable, though not essential, as an aptitude for quickly mastering new financial systems will be key.
Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, as you will be expected to challenge assumptions, question performance drivers, and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders. You should also demonstrate strong commercial awareness, excellent organisational abilities, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Previous experience in Defence, Facilities Management, or Asset Management sectors would be advantageous, though not required.
Additional Information
This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home and various UK locations, with regular travel to support VIVO Leadership, Finance Teams, and key stakeholders. You will need the ability to adapt to changing business needs and travel at short notice when required.
This position is an excellent opportunity for a financially astute, inquisitive, and commercially aware analyst who thrives on turning data into strategic insight and enjoys working across functional boundaries to deliver value, control, and improvement.
