The Financial Reporting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, compliance, and performance of VIVO through effective management of financial reporting, treasury, and control processes. This position will provide technical leadership across accounting, reporting, and process improvement activities, ensuring alignment with IFRS and supporting continuous financial excellence across the organisation.
You will be responsible for managing all treasury operations, including the production of rolling cashflow forecasts, incorporating a detailed understanding of billing cycles and cash receipts, and maintaining strong relationships with the central treasury function and banking partners. A key part of the role will involve maintaining the fixed asset and lease registers, ensuring appropriate capitalisation governance, accurate depreciation and amortisation, and compliance with relevant accounting policies.
The role will oversee the completion of VAT returns and CIS reporting in conjunction with outsourced service providers, as well as ensuring accuracy and compliance across all balance sheet reconciliations and payroll control accounts. You will manage costs associated with new bids and mobilisation, ensuring correct accounting treatment and allocation to contracts, while providing financial insight that supports business growth and control.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating external audits, statutory financial reports, and shareholder audits. You will also support legal and finance teams in ensuring compliance with Companies House and other regulatory bodies, engaging external advisors as required on tax, pensions, and other technical financial matters.
A core focus of this position will be maintaining robust accounting practices in line with IFRS, ensuring that all financial processes and controls are consistently applied across the business. You will provide guidance, training, and support to Senior Finance Business Partners and the wider business to embed best practice, strengthen compliance, and drive continuous improvement. The role will also support the production of accounting papers and maintain VIVO’s financial processes and policies database to ensure transparency and accessibility.
You will lead and develop the Purchase to Pay (P2P) team, driving accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with procurement and finance teams, you will assess and optimise the effectiveness of the offshore P2P model and identify opportunities to enhance cost efficiency and operational performance. Leadership of your direct reports will be central to the role—motivating and developing the team to meet evolving business needs while delivering measurable value.
What You'll Bring
This position requires a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience and strong technical expertise in IFRS accounting, treasury management, and statutory reporting. A confident communicator and natural problem-solver, you will be comfortable challenging, influencing, and engaging with senior stakeholders both internally and externally. Strong Excel proficiency and familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems are essential.
The role is hybrid, with one day per week at Ingenuity House in Birmingham and regular travel across the UK to support VIVO leadership and operational teams. Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs are essential.
