Who we are

VIVO provides facilities management and accommodation maintenance for the UK military and its partners. VIVO embodies both experience and innovation.

What we do

We put our Customers and Families First. They are the driving force behind everything we do. We drive forward improvements for them to ensure the service they receive, whether reactive repairs or a major project, is completed safely and on time. In order to achieve this, we have 4 core values: open, caring, agile and collaborative. These are at the heart of everything we do.

Location: MOD Abbeywood - on site role

Permanent, Full time

Salary: £37,000 - £44,500

We are looking for an experienced and technically minded Service Manager to oversee the delivery of maintenance services across site operations. This is a key role responsible for ensuring reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), remedial works and Billable Works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed performance standards.

As Service Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day service delivery, coordinating internal teams, Tier One suppliers and specialist contractors to ensure works are completed on time, to the required quality standards and in compliance with all health, safety and contractual requirements.

You will monitor operational performance, reviewing work schedules, progress reports and key milestones to identify risks and address issues before they impact delivery. You will work closely with the Built Estate Manager, customers and stakeholders to provide updates, resolve challenges and maintain a high-quality service.

The role will involve managing contractors and supply chain partners, ensuring they deliver value for money and meet agreed expectations. You will support the planning and delivery of additional works, including obtaining quotations, arranging resources, managing purchase orders and coordinating materials and equipment to ensure successful completion.

A strong focus on compliance will be central to the role. You will ensure all required documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, permits and safe systems of work, are in place before activities begin. You will maintain accurate records, update CAFM systems and ensure asset information, inspection reports and certification are kept up to date.

You will carry out regular assurance checks, support continuous improvement and provide technical guidance to operational teams, customers and stakeholders. The role will also include supporting statutory compliance activities, including responsibilities linked to asbestos, legionella and temporary works coordination.

Working closely with the Built Estate Manager, you will help resolve customer concerns, improve service performance and support the successful delivery of smaller Billable Works projects.

This is an office-based role suited to an experienced service delivery professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment and delivering excellent customer outcomes.

About You

You will have experience managing service delivery within facilities management, property maintenance, engineering or a similar operational environment. You will be confident coordinating teams, contractors and suppliers to deliver high-quality services against agreed targets.

You will have a strong understanding of maintenance operations, safe systems of work and compliance requirements, with experience managing reactive repairs, planned maintenance and remedial works.

A technical background in an electrical or mechanical discipline would be highly beneficial, supported by a relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience. Knowledge of CAFM systems, JSP 375, SFG20 and health and safety processes will be advantageous.

You will be organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Experience within facilities management, the MOD environment or regulated estates would be desirable, along with qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, SMSTS or CDM awareness.

You will be a reliable and solutions-focused individual who takes pride in delivering safe, compliant and customer-focused services. The ability to obtain SC Security Clearance is required for this role.

What We Offer

  • 25 days annual leave
  • Single private medical cover
  • Life assurance 2x annual salary
