Power the mission. Protect critical infrastructure. Build your future.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electrical Engineer & Tester to join a well-established engineering team supporting critical operations at RAF Fairford and Welford. Working within a full-strength team of six, you will contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of electrical services across a varied and technically demanding estate.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position focused on delivering both planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a mix of commercial and domestic buildings, with a strong emphasis on commercial environments. Your work will be scheduled and will include PPM activities, fixed wire inspections, compliance testing, and fault response on critical systems and assets.

You will be expected to meet timescales and key performance indicators while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The role includes a strong client-facing element, requiring regular interaction with building custodians and stakeholders on site, so professionalism and clear communication are essential at all times.

There is also a requirement to support out-of-hours coverage. While a formal rota is not currently in place, this is expected to move to a one-in-three or one-in-four arrangement.

What We’re Looking For

You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or an equivalent qualification, along with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. A 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification is required, supported by solid experience in fixed wire testing and general electrical maintenance within commercial settings.

Experience working in high-compliance or critical environments will be highly beneficial. Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) experience or qualifications would be a strong advantage, though not essential. You should also be confident working in a client-facing role, with the ability to manage expectations and build positive working relationships on site.

Security Clearance (SC) eligibility is required for this role.

Why Join Us

This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-profile site supporting essential infrastructure, with a strong team environment and clear expectations around performance and delivery. You will be equipped with a company van and fuel card to support your day-to-day duties, and you will be part of an organisation focused on maintaining high standards while continuing to grow.

If you are an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong commercial experience, a proactive approach to maintenance and testing, and the ability to perform in a client-facing environment, we would like to hear from you.
