Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Location: RAF Menwith Hill, with some travel to RAF Fylingdales
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 dependent on qualifications and experience


We are seeking a skilled and versatile Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative to join our Core Services team, supporting commercial buildings across Menwith Hill and Fylingdales. This is a hands-on, reactive maintenance role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work across a range of trades.

About the Role

Working as part of a team of six multi-skilled operatives, you will carry out a wide variety of reactive maintenance tasks across site. The role involves both independent working and collaboration with colleagues, building custodians, and the client to ensure all maintenance activities are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

All work is reactive and issued via job packs, with tasks scheduled through Maximo and the helpdesk system. Reporting is paper-based, and you will be responsible for updating and communicating progress to the Technical Services Manager (TSM). Meeting KPIs and completing tasks within agreed timescales is a key part of the role.

You will carry out general building maintenance across commercial properties, including tiling, guttering, painting and decorating, and joinery tasks. The role requires a flexible approach to a variety of repair and maintenance activities, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

You will work from issued job packs, completing reactive maintenance tasks and reporting progress accordingly. The role requires regular interaction with building custodians and clients, maintaining a professional and cooperative approach at all times.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, with strong practical skills across general building maintenance, joinery, and finishing trades such as painting, decorating, and tiling.

You will be a proactive individual with a can-do attitude, capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and KPIs are essential.

Due to the nature of the sites, candidates must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance and be a British or US national.
