Who we are
VIVO provides facilities management and accommodation maintenance for the UK military and its partners. VIVO embodies both experience and innovation.
What we do
We put our Customers and Families First. They are the driving force behind everything we do. We drive forward improvements for them to ensure the service they receive, whether reactive repairs or a major project, is completed safely and on time. In order to achieve this, we have 4 core values: open, caring, agile and collaborative. These are at the heart of everything we do.
Location: Candidates must be based no further north than the Midlands, to cover sites in South England to the South coast.
Permanent, Full time
Salary: £60,000-£70,000 + Benefits
At VIVO, we maintain and improve homes for Service Families across the UK—but this role goes beyond property. It’s about the lived experience behind every front door: where families grow, children are raised, and memories are made.
We’re looking for a Senior Performance Improvement Manager to help us raise the bar.
This is a high-impact, forward-facing role for someone who thrives on turning insight into action. You’ll lead data-driven improvement initiatives that not only enhance KPI performance but, more importantly, deliver meaningful, measurable improvements to the lives of Service Families. Working across teams, you’ll challenge the status quo, uncover root causes, and design solutions that are practical, sustainable, and scalable.
You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy—spotting opportunities, shaping ideas, and taking them through to delivery. Whether analysing performance data, facilitating problem-solving sessions, or influencing senior stakeholders, you’ll bring clarity, energy, and a strong sense of ownership to everything you do.
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of performance improvement initiatives, leading them end-to-end—from initial diagnosis through to implementation and benefit realisation. This means identifying underperformance across KPIs, customer feedback, and operational data, then drilling into root causes rather than symptoms. You’ll connect disparate data sources to build a coherent picture of performance, using insight to prioritise where intervention will have the greatest impact.
A key part of the role is translating analysis into action. You’ll develop clear, evidence-based business cases for change, articulating both customer and commercial benefits. You’ll design improvement strategies that are grounded in operational reality—working closely with frontline teams to co-create solutions that are not only effective but sustainable in the long term.
You’ll play a central role in embedding a culture of continuous improvement. This includes facilitating workshops, leading structured problem-solving sessions, and introducing tools or frameworks that help teams think differently about performance challenges. You’ll challenge constructively, using data and insight to influence decisions at multiple levels of the organisation.
Monitoring and tracking impact is equally important. You’ll define success measures for each initiative, establish baselines, and track progress against agreed outcomes—ensuring benefits are realised and sustained over time. You’ll provide clear, concise reporting on performance trends, intervention impact, and return on investment, helping senior stakeholders make informed decisions.
You’ll also act as a connector across the business—bringing together teams, aligning priorities, and ensuring that improvement activity is coordinated rather than fragmented. Where needed, you’ll represent the function at a senior level, providing confident, insight-led updates and recommendations.
Alongside this, you’ll continue to evolve how performance is understood and managed—improving data visibility, refining KPIs where necessary, and helping the organisation move towards a more proactive, insight-led approach to performance.
This role will require frequent travel to sites from the Midlands down to and including the South Coast, as well as regular meetings at our Birmingham office, and the ability to obtain and maintain SC Clearance will be a condition of employment.
About You
We’re looking for someone naturally curious and analytically strong—someone who asks “why?”, digs deeper, and isn’t afraid to think differently. You’ll be confident working with complex data, using tools like Excel (essential) and ideally Power BI or other Microsoft 365 applications, to build a clear performance narrative and drive evidence-based decisions.
Equally important is your mindset. You care about outcomes, not just outputs. You understand that behind every metric is a real family, and you bring that perspective into your work. You collaborate well, build trust quickly, and can both support and challenge stakeholders to achieve better results.
Experience in housing or related sectors is helpful, but not essential. What matters most is your ability to solve problems, work with data, and keep the customer at the heart of every improvement.
Success in this role will be defined by what changes because of you: improved performance, stronger insight, and a better everyday experience for Service Families.
If you’re a self-starter with the drive to make a tangible difference—and the capability to back it up—we’d like to hear from you.
