We are seeking an exceptional Head of Assets and Compliance to join the Senior Management Team and lead the strategic and operational delivery of asset management, building safety, and statutory compliance across a residential portfolio.

This is a high-profile leadership opportunity where you will shape strategy, lead critical compliance programmes, influence investment decisions, and provide assurance to senior stakeholders. If you are commercially aware, forward-thinking, and committed to delivering excellence, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact.

Reporting to the VIVO Accommodation Operations Director, you will play a key role in ensuring the organisation’s housing stock is managed proactively, safely, and in full alignment with regulatory expectations.

As Head of Assets and Compliance, you will lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s Asset Management Strategy, ensuring it supports business objectives, regulatory standards, and long-term sustainability.

You will take overall responsibility for statutory compliance across all homes, ensuring robust systems, controls, and assurance processes are in place. This will include oversight of domestic compliance programmes such as Landlord Gas Safety Inspections, Electrical Installation Condition Reports, and radon monitoring and mitigation.

You will lead the fire safety function, overseeing fire risk assessments, remedial works, and ongoing compliance monitoring to ensure risks are identified, managed, and resolved promptly. You will also act as a trusted advisor on building safety and compliance matters.

A key part of the role will involve leading condition surveys, planned maintenance programmes, and long-term investment planning. Using data and insight, you will drive informed decision-making to improve asset performance, sustainability, and value for money.

You will champion innovation and continuous improvement, using technology, reporting tools, and smarter ways of working to enhance compliance delivery and customer outcomes.

Working closely with regulators, contractors, consultants, Board members, and senior leaders, you will provide clear and transparent reporting on performance, risk, and strategic priorities.

About You

We are looking for a senior leader with significant experience within the housing, property, or asset management sector and a strong track record of delivering statutory compliance across residential portfolios.

You will have deep knowledge of domestic compliance areas including gas safety, electrical safety, radon, fire safety, and wider building safety legislation. Experience leading remedial compliance programmes and managing risk within complex property portfolios is essential.

You will bring proven experience in developing asset management strategies, delivering planned maintenance programmes, and using condition data to inform investment decisions.

Strong commercial awareness, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex data, compliance trends, and risk information are critical to success in this role.

You will be an inspiring and collaborative leader, able to engage stakeholders at all levels, influence decision-making, and build high-performing teams focused on accountability and service excellence.

A relevant professional qualification such as CIOB, RICS, or equivalent is desirable, alongside strong knowledge of repairs and maintenance services, SFG20, the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety, Legionella and Asbestos, Radon, Gas and Electric compliance in domestic properties, and wider regulatory frameworks.

Experience managing service delivery through internal teams and supply chain partners is important. IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualifications would be advantageous, and prior military experience would be welcomed.

  • 25 days annual leave
