VIVO is seeking a practical, organised, and proactive Multi-Skilled Operative Supervisor to join our team at RAF Cosford.
This is a fully office-based supervisory role, overseeing a team of 13 operatives with one additional supervisor, ensuring that high-quality maintenance and billable works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the client’s satisfaction. This is a unique opportunity to shape a newly created role within the growing UK Defence estate sector, where your leadership, organisation, and operational skills will make a direct impact.
About the Role
As a Multi-Skilled Operative Supervisor, you will focus on monitoring, coordinating, and supporting your team rather than undertaking manual work. Your day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing a team delivering planned preventative maintenance and billable works across multiple sites, monitoring work quality, producing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
You will order materials, coordinate access, manage workflow efficiently, and maintain profit and loss spreadsheets to ensure directly delivered works remain financially viable. You will provide back-office support and administrative oversight while leading the team to achieve KPIs and high-quality delivery. Collaboration with the supply chain, site teams, and end users will be central to your success.
What you’ll need
You are a proactive, practical, and organised supervisor with experience in planned and reactive maintenance. You have the confidence to manage and motivate a team while maintaining high standards and ensuring statutory compliance.
You are comfortable working with IT systems, including Microsoft Office 365, and producing documentation such as risk assessments and reports.
Essential requirements include experience supervising a team delivering planned maintenance and billable works, strong organisational and administrative skills, knowledge of health and safety practices with the ability to produce and manage risk assessments, experience managing budgets or financial tracking such as profit and loss spreadsheets
Desirable qualifications include trade certifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ or relevant experience in building maintenance and infrastructure support.
You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be eligible for this role.
This is a chance to lead a team of skilled operatives in a fast-growing organisation, contributing to the successful delivery of maintenance services across multiple military establishments. You will benefit from a clear work-life balance, structured working hours, and the satisfaction of seeing your team succeed under your guidance.
If you are a practical, organised, and proactive supervisor ready to make a real impact and lead a team delivering high-quality maintenance, we want to hear from you.
