Permanent, Full time

Salary: £55,000-£66,000

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in delivering robust commercial management across a complex facilities management and construction environment. This role will support the Commercial function in ensuring contracts are effectively managed, delivering value for money while maintaining compliance with contractual, statutory and organisational requirements.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will develop and maintain strong working relationships with client representatives, internal teams and supply chain partners. You will act as a trusted commercial advisor, supporting both operational and commercial colleagues by providing accurate reporting, guidance and insight across Core Services and Billable Works.

You will be responsible for providing cost advice, developing cost models and supporting pricing activities, ensuring all works are delivered in line with contract requirements. You will maintain strong commercial control, ensuring milestone payments are achieved, final accounts are closed effectively and financial targets are met.

A key part of the role involves supporting change management processes, ensuring all contract variations are managed in accordance with contractual requirements and within agreed timescales. You will also manage and resolve supply chain queries relating to pricing and commercial matters, ensuring consistency and fairness.

You will actively monitor and review supply chain performance, manage supplier payments in line with policy, and contribute to the development and implementation of commercial risk management processes. You will attend meetings, prepare reports and provide commercial insight to stakeholders across the business.

From a governance perspective, you will ensure all contract processes, procedures and fraud prevention measures are adhered to at all times. You will participate in risk management activities, including attending risk meetings, maintaining risk registers and supporting mitigation strategies.

You will also contribute to sustainability objectives, supporting initiatives that reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency across the estate.

Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with operational teams, providing guidance on contract requirements, supporting the preparation of work proposals and influencing decision-making through effective communication and negotiation. You will also support dispute avoidance and resolution alongside senior commercial leadership.

About You

You will have strong commercial experience within construction, property maintenance or facilities management, with a proven ability to manage costs, risks and contract processes effectively.

You will hold a degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience) and have experience working on a range of projects, from large-scale (£1M–£20M) to multiple smaller projects delivered concurrently.

You will demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes. A solid understanding of commercial processes, risk management and cost control is essential.

You will be detail-oriented, commercially astute and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience within a MOD or highly regulated environment, along with knowledge of collaborative working frameworks (e.g. BS11000), would be advantageous.

The ability to travel to sites in North and South Wales regularly is essential, and the ability to obtain and maintain SC Clearance will be a condition of employment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven professional to take the next step in their career, contributing to the successful delivery of complex contracts while driving value, performance and continuous improvement.

What We Offer

  • 25 days annual leave
  • Company car/car allowance
  • Life assurance 2x annual salary
