Join a dynamic team delivering essential maintenance across SDA 13!

VIVO Defence Services is looking for a flexible and proactive Multi-Skilled Operative to join our team of 11 professionals working predominantly at Stafford or Cosford, with responsibility for surrounding military sites. This role involves mainly lone working across the estate, where you will play a vital part in maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of critical Defence infrastructure.

Your role and responsibilities

In this varied role, you will be carrying out a wide range of tasks including flushing outlets, conducting inspections (including roads), and delivering many handyperson duties such as putting up noticeboards. You will manage your schedule based on the site and the specific jobs assigned by your DEL Supervisor.

You will work a standard 37.5-hour week from Monday to Friday with no out-of-hours or on-call requirements, providing a healthy work-life balance. You will be expected to use your initiative, work independently, and support the team to maintain excellent standards of service.

What we’re looking for

We want a candidate who is flexible, reliable, and ready to do whatever is needed to keep the sites running smoothly. Experience with planned and reactive maintenance tasks is ideal, and a practical “can-do” attitude is essential. You should be comfortable working predominantly alone, able to manage your time efficiently, and possess good communication skills to liaise with supervisors and site users.

Qualifications such as City & Guilds or BTECs in relevant trades are advantageous but not mandatory. You will be supported with on-the-job training to help you grow your skillset and advance your career.

You will need to be able to pass BPSS Clearance to be eligible for this role.
