Are you hands-on, proactive, and ready to make a real difference in supporting the UK Defence estate? We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our growing team at DCAE Cosford.

This is a unique role at the heart of the new FDIS contract, giving you the chance to take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance, small-scale projects, and billable works while working in some of the UK’s most interesting and secure environments.

About the Role:

You will deliver a wide range of tasks, from redecoration and lock changes to carrying out surveys, first-response fixes, and assurance checks. No two days will be the same. More than just maintenance, this role is about delivering exceptional customer service, keeping our sites safe and compliant, and being part of a supportive team that prides itself on Zero Harm, collaboration, and excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, delivering small works such as redecoration, noticeboard installations, and lock changes on commercial buildings. You will order and manage materials to complete jobs effectively, provide first-response fixes for urgent tasks, and support assurance checks and statutory compliance. Building strong relationships with site teams, supply chain, and end users will be essential, and you will represent VIVO to the highest standard at all times.

What We’re Looking For

You should be a practical, problem-solving individual with a proactive approach and a “can-do” attitude. Experience in planned maintenance, reactive repairs, or small project delivery is important, along with a strong commitment to health and safety and being a Zero Harm ambassador. Strong communication skills and a customer service focus are key. Confidence in using smartphones, tablets, and Microsoft 365 applications is desirable, although full training will be provided. Practical qualifications such as C&G or BTEC are advantageous.

We offer;

  • Work van and fuel card
  • Up to 6% contributory pension scheme
  • 25 Days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Volunteer leave
  • One paid professional subscription
  • Life Assurance Policy
  • Employee discount and reward schemes
