Step into a key role within the Defence Maritime Support Services (DMSS) team, supporting Serco’s delivery of critical services to the Royal Australian Navy. As the Operations and Maintenance Coordinator, you’ll coordinate daily operational and maintenance activities for a fleet of vessels, playing a vital part in ensuring safe and efficient service delivery. Working closely with the Site Marine Manager, you’ll use your planning and systems expertise to maintain vessel schedules, support maintenance activities and champion data accuracy.
As an Operations and Maintenance Coordinator in the Serco Defence team, you’ll make a positive impact by:
- Coordinating vessel operational and crewing requirements by maintaining the operations schedule and the Computer Maintenance Management System transactions (currently, IFS)
- Supporting the safe operation and maintenance of various sized vessels and equipment
- Promulgation and closure of IFS planned maintenance at HMAS Stirling
- Inventory management
- Supporting implementation, deployment, user support and overall effectiveness of IFS in accordance with the current implementation and improvement plans and collaborate and provide backup support to the IFS coordinator (West)
- Ensuring cost effectiveness and efficient utilisation of resources and support longer-term asset management capabilities.
- General administration and leadership support for the Site Marine Manager - Perth

To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant field or to demonstrate relevant maritime industry experience in operations and maintenance planning
- Knowledge of Royal Australian Navy operating practices and procedures - desirable
- Application of OHS and environmental legislation and quality assurance systems
- Experience with Asset Management, CMSS & Operations Management Systems
- Current Driver’s Licence (National Code Class C)
- Experience with programming/rostering/scheduling
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
- Flexible attitude and self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment as well as without supervision
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Security Clearance: Defence NV1 (Ability to gain security clearance).
