Are you a strong leader with a background in prison or forensic environments? Do you have a passion for rehabilitation and driving meaningful change in the lives of others? If so, we’re looking for a Programmes Manager to join our dedicated team and help us deliver outstanding outcomes through our Accredited Offending Behaviour Programmes.

As the Programmes Manager here at Serco, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery and continuous improvement of our Accredited Programmes and OBP Resettlement processes. You will lead and support a team of programme staff, ensuring compliance with operational standards and contractual obligations, while helping offenders work towards successful rehabilitation.

You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring delivery against performance targets, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high standards across the department. This includes management of the Annual Intervention Plan (AIP), ensuring timely and effective case reviews, and integrating programme outcomes into each prisoner’s Sentence Planning Process.

As part of this you’ll:

  • Lead the Programmes Department, ensuring staff deliver services in line with specifications and expectations.
  • Oversee the delivery of Accredited Offending Behaviour Programmes and manage associated audits and performance targets.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders to meet contract requirements and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ensure systems and processes are in place to track compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of all health and safety requirements within your area, including risk assessments and fire drills.
  • Coordinate and conduct structured Case Reviews, ensuring effective planning and integration with other sentence management processes.
  • Support the resettlement process for offenders completing programmes, promoting rehabilitation both in custody and post-release.
  • Provide timely updates and strategic insights to the Head of Psychological Services and contribute to the national direction of programme delivery.

What you will need to do the role:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent)
  • Programme Specific Training and experience in delivering Accredited Offending Behaviour Programmes
  • Experience in a management role within a prison or forensic environment
  • Strategic planning and team leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
