As an Air Navigation Services Safety Manager in our Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) team, you’ll lead and continuously improve the Aviation Safety Management System, helping to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient aviation operations. Your expertise will help identify, assess and mitigate risks while maintaining the highest aviation safety standards.

What you’ll do as an Air Navigation Services Safety Manager

  • Lead the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Aviation Safety Management System.
  • Ensure a consistent and effective safety framework across air navigation and civil airfield services.
  • Act as the aviation safety subject matter expert, providing advice and guidance to senior leaders and operational teams.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance and act as the primary point of contact with the Civil Aviation Authority and other regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee hazard identification, risk assessment, occurrence reporting and investigation processes to ensure effective risk mitigation.
  • Analyse safety performance trends, support governance forums and drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety outcomes.

Does this sound like you?

  • Experience working within aviation safety management, air navigation services, air traffic management or a similarly regulated aviation environment.
  • Strong understanding of aviation safety management systems, risk management processes and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to analyse complex safety data, identify trends and develop practical improvement plans.
  • Confident communicator who can influence stakeholders at all levels and promote a positive Just Culture.
  • Experienced in audits, assurance activities, investigations and the delivery of safety performance reporting.

Vetting and checks:

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC) or a DBS check, which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
