At Hawarden Airport, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Manoeuvring Area Safety Officer to join the team and support the safe operations of an CAA 139/2014 certified aerodrome.
You will be required to complete surface inspections, coordinate and supervise work in progress, escort duties, airside permits, habitat management functions and other aerodrome operations safety functions as required by the aerodrome management team, in accordance with regulatory and local procedures.
You will be required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments within the airport; with the aerodrome management team (the customer) and/or customer representative; with external agencies; and with other relevant stakeholders.
We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication skills, capable of thriving both independently and as part of a collaborative team, supporting the overall success of the contract.
Main accountabilities:
- Work as part of a team supporting and overseeing the safe operations of an CAA 139/2014 certified aerodrome.
- Complete surface inspections, friction testing, work in progress, escort duties, airside permits, habitat management functions and other aerodrome operations functions as required by the aerodrome management team, in accordance with regulatory and local procedures.
- Produce reports, records and statistics for Aerodrome Management and Contract Management
- Achieving and maintaining authorisations and currency.
- Remain current with all amendments to company standard operating
- procedures and all other relevant technical data provided.
- Comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Environment regulations and
- exercise a Duty of Care promoting a positive approach towards workplace
- health and safety.
- As directed by Serco management for busy needs, undertake any reasonable additional tasks that are required to support contract requirements.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Minimum ICAO Level 4 English language.
- Full current driving licence.
- Shotgun licence (desirable, if you do not have the licence, you must be able to obtain)
- Proficiency in the use of radio telephony equipment
- Possess good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Be competent using IT
- Be physically able to meet manual handling requirements.
- Be medically fit to obtain and maintain an airside driving permit and shotgun licence
- Other desirable skills/experience: 2 years operational experience of working on an aerodrome or in a similar aviation role
