In order to support its development, Serco is seeking a Instructor STCW Bridge Watch (A II/1, A II/3)

About The Role

As an Instructor STCW Bridge Watch, you will deliver high‑quality theoretical and practical training in accordance with STCW requirements (A‑II/1 and A‑II/3). You will contribute to course development, and ensure that trainees receive the knowledge and confidence needed for safe and effective bridge operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver STCW-compliant training for Officer of the Watch (A‑II/1) and Able Seafarer Deck (A‑II/3) programs
  • Assess trainee performance through practical exercises, evaluations, and examinations
  • Support curriculum development and continuous improvement of training materials
  • Ensure compliance with maritime standards, safety procedures, and quality requirements
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to trainees throughout their learning journey

Your Profile

  • Valid STCW certification at operational or management level (Deck)
  • Extensive seagoing experience in bridge watchkeeping roles
  • Strong understanding of COLREGS, navigation systems, and bridge resource management
  • Experience with maritime simulators is an asset
  • Military/Navy  experience is also an asset
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for teaching
  • Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus
