We invite applications from suitably motivated candidates for an AI Implementation Internship with a focus on Human Resources, supporting the development of recommendations to shape Serco’s future AI adoption strategy.

Main Responsibilities

This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore how Artificial Intelligence can enhance HR, Recruitment, Learning & Development, and other people-related functions by identifying opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and improved employee experience.

 

  • Analyse business processes across People & Culture, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and related people functions to identify opportunities for AI adoption and process optimisation.
  • Research AI tools, technologies and emerging solutions applicable to people-related business processes.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities for automation, improved efficiency and enhanced employee experience.
  • Benchmark industry best practices and AI use cases across HR and People functions.
  • Develop recommendations for AI implementation, including suitable technologies, expected business impact and implementation considerations.
  • Assess organisational readiness, transformation anticipated risks, required capabilities and change management considerations for AI adoption.
  • Collaborate with HR, People and Culture Director and business stakeholders to validate opportunities and prioritise initiatives.
  • Present findings, business cases and implementation roadmaps to project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, AI, Computer Science, Data Science, ICT Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in the practical application of Artificial Intelligence within business functions, particularly HR, Recruitment, and People Operations.
  • Good understanding of current AI technologies, including generative AI, automation, workflow optimisation, or intelligent process improvement.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to map business processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of German, French and/or Dutch is considered a strong advantage.
  • Previous exposure to AI tools (e.g. Claude, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Microsoft Power Platform, automation platforms, or similar technologies) is an asset.
