Job Introduction

We are hiring Database Architect for European Commission DG Informatics (DIGIT TM) in Brussels and various locations around Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting.
- Assist in the enforcement of project deadlines, schedules, and methodologies.
- Assist with deployment and configuration of the system.
- Contribute and review the creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses and complex Business Intelligence Solutions (Data Lakes/Data Warehouses).
- Contribute to and review best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models and databases.
- Contribute to and review data, security, testing and technical artefacts.
- Contribute to and review the project deliverables (project progress reports and project management plans (test plan, quality, etc.))
- Contribute to and review the risk management activities and deliverables.
- Database design and implementation.
- Integration with other databases.
- Participate in review, progress, coordination, management and technical meetings with other project teams’ members.
- Participation in meetings with the project teams.
- Provide guidance for the Project Support Officers in assisting the Project’s team from the inception stages of the projects up until the deployment of the solutions. Providing technical or business expertise and contributing to the overall project effort by supporting in any way necessary.
- Provision of expert advice and assistance, technology watch, evaluation studies, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices in a specific area of ICT infrastructure technology such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence.
- Provision of technical evaluations and audit reports of databases
Skills
- A bachelor’s level or 3 years of higher education
- Experience with dealing with stakeholders and business representatives.
- Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
