IT Functional Analyst

Description Functional Analyst Force Contract

The IT Functional Analyst acts as the bridge between business needs and technical solutions. The functional analyst will need to translate application requirements from the customer (BE Customs) into detailed functional specifications for solution provider.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting Change Management: the functional analyst supports change requests by making sure requirements are well documented and approved by all stakeholders in order the new features or updates align with the customer’s needs. He also assesses the impact of such changes on existing functionality and guide teams through the implementation process. In particular:

• Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with customer stakeholders to understand their needs and document clear, concise functional requirements.
• Technical Translation: Create detailed functional design documents, including use cases, process flows, workflows Grafical User Interface, and wireframes.
• Bridging the Gap Between Teams: the functional analyst ensures seamless communication between non-technical stakeholders and technical teams. This role requires them to be adept at understanding both the business context and the technical constraints of the project.
• Quality Assurance: Make sure the acceptance criteria are clearly defined and define test plans and ensure the changes in the application meets functional specifications.
• Acceptance: Assist in User Acceptance Testing
• Documentation:  define what documentation need to be provided or updated by the solution provider.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in functional analysis or business analysis, preferably in application-focused environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to break down complex problems and propose solutions. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• Bilingual in Dutch and French, fluent in English.
• Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
• Familiarity with Cloud Environments (Azure, …) and how they impact application deployment.
• Proficiency in creating detailed functional documentation, including functional specifications, workflows, and user stories.
• Demonstrable experience as a functional analyst with major business-critical applications.
• Demonstrable experience in Docker container and virtual technical environments (VM Ware, Tanzu).
• Knowledge and experience of data and process modeling techniques and tools.
• Demonstrable experience with requirement analysis & design concepts for Object-Oriented (OO), multi-tier, web-enabled, and/or Unified Modeling Language (UML) environments.
• Candidates must be EU Nationals.
