Are you a passionate Registered Nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in a unique primary healthcare setting?

We’re seeking a Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Cabarlah Health Centre on a 12-month fixed-term part-time basis (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours per week), delivering high-quality care to Defence members in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This position requires availability to work Monday, Tuesday and Friday, with shifts rostered within the Health Centre's operating hours (Monday to Thursday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm and Friday 7:30 am – 3:30 pm).

While this role is initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, there may be an opportunity to transition into a permanent position in the future, subject to operational requirements and business needs.

About the Health Centre

Cabarlah Health Centre is located within Borneo Barracks, approximately 14 km north of Toowoomba. The clinic supports around 250 personnel from the tri-service Defence Force School of Signals' Electronic Warfare Wing and provides a range of primary healthcare services to Defence members.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver high-quality primary healthcare, including health assessments, vaccinations, and health promotion activities
  • Monitor and manage patients in a low-dependency ward setting as required
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, physiotherapists, mental health clinicians, and dental professionals
  • Support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic disease management, and preventative healthcare
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

What you bring

  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum one year of Registered Nurse experience in acute care, primary healthcare, or a military setting
  • Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
  • Australian Citizenship (required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance)
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and delivering ethical, patient-centred care
  • Availability to work the required roster of Monday, Tuesday and Friday
