As a Fleet Services Manager at RAF Brize Norton, you’ll lead the delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement of transport services that keep vital operations running safely and efficiently. You’ll help shape a safer, more resilient transport operation by guiding teams, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the services we provide meet the highest standards. What you’ll do as a Fleet Services Manager

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Be a focal point to ensure the effective delivery and control of Serco Transport Services at RAF Brize Norton - ensuring that the products and services delivered always meet the standard and comply with regulatory requirements
  • Lead the delivery of safe, compliant, and effective transport services, ensuring all outputs meet contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders to maintain business resilience and understand current and future needs.
  • Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement, identifying value‑for‑money initiatives and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide clear leadership to transport colleagues, supporting performance, development, and a “Zero Harm” safety culture.
  • Ensure adherence to Operator’s Licence obligations, JSP 800 requirements, and all applicable Serco policies and regulations.

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Hold both the National Certificate of Professional Competences in Goods and the National Certificate of Professional Competences in PSV Vehicles (candidates with only 1 may be considered but would need to complete the other)
  • Strong understanding of UK and EU road transport regulations, including Goods/PSV compliance requirements.
  • Experience leading teams in a transport operational environment, with excellent communication and people leadership skills.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders at all levels to respond to issues, solve problems, and deliver high-quality services.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to interpret operational data to drive performance.
  • Full UK Cat B Driving Licence (Cat D & C desirable)

Desirable

  • Have a thorough understanding of Joint Service MT and Dangerous Goods Regulations.
  • Current knowledge of load and load restraint.
  • ADR Awareness in all classes of Dangerous Goods.

Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, you will need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
