As a Hairdresser in our Regimes and Activities team, you’ll provide a professional hairdressing and barbering service to residents, helping promote wellbeing, dignity, and confidence in a secure environment.

In this hands-on role, your work has real purpose. You’ll create a positive impact by supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, delivering services that contribute to daily life, routine, and wellbeing. Working closely with colleagues, you’ll help ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive space while continuously improving the service you provide.

 

What you’ll do as a Hairdresser

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Provide hairdressing and barbering services in line with the agreed daily schedule
  • Manage an effective appointment system to meet residents’ needs
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and records in line with relevant policies
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with residents from all backgrounds
  • Report any concerns, including those impacting safety and security
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a consistent, high-quality service

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…

  • Experience working in a fast-paced salon or similar environment
  • Strong skills in cutting and styling both male and female hair
  • Knowledge of a wide range of hair types, including Afro Caribbean, Asian, and Caucasian hair
  • A professional, calm approach when working in a secure environment
  • A commitment to treating everyone with dignity, respect, and care

 

Vetting and checks

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
