Introduction

At Serco, we don’t just support space exploration—we help make it possible. For decades, we’ve been a trusted partner at ESA’s European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt, Germany, playing a vital role in some of the most ambitious space missions humanity has ever undertaken. From spacecraft operations to ground systems and data processing, our expertise has earned us recognition, including ESA’s prestigious Best in Domain awards. Every day, we work together with ESA to ensure mission success and push the boundaries of innovation.

Now, we’re looking for someone who wants to be part of this story. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator based at our customer site, ESOC.

Your Mission

At the heart of our operations is a team of administrators who keep everything running seamlessly — ensuring our people, processes, and services stay perfectly synchronised so the wider organisation can focus on delivering excellence.

Now, we’re looking for an Administrator who wants to be part of that story.

If you’re someone who thrives on structure, enjoys being hands-on, and takes pride in delivering high-quality service, this role puts you exactly where you matter most.

As our Administrator, you won’t just “do admin.”
You’ll be the engine behind daily operations — supporting teams, managing data, coordinating services, and making sure our customers and stakeholders experience smooth, reliable delivery every single day.

You’re someone who sees the bigger picture while mastering the details.
From financial data to procurement, from travel coordination to reporting — your work creates clarity, consistency, and confidence across the business.

You will deliver service excellence, keep operations flowing and own the details that matter.

Quality isn’t an afterthought — it’s how you work.
You’ll help ensure service performance stays high through accurate monthly and ad-hoc reporting, strong organisation, and reliable administrative support.

Where You'll Do

You will play a key role in:

  • Ensure excellent service quality and high-performance standards
  • Prepare monthly and ad-hoc service reports
  • Carry out routine and ad-hoc administrative and office support activities
  • Perform general administration tasks (e.g. organising business travel and training)
  • Maintain and validate financial data
  • Provide support to controlling and accounting activities
  • Manage licenses from industrial vendors
  • Maintain databases and perform regular consistency checks; support service contract management (e.g. preparing responses to additional service requests)
  • Support procurement-related activities (e.g. GRN checks, triggering renewals, and amending purchase orders)
  • Assisting with supplier management and cost centre management

What You'll Bring

You bring structure, reliability, and a strong service mindset to everything you do.

  • Experience in administrative or operational support roles
  • A focus on service quality, performance, and continuous improvement
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills
  • High attention to detail when working with financial data and databases
  • Understanding of controlling, accounting, and procurement support activities
  • Confidence working with vendors, licenses, and service contracts
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Clear communication skills with colleagues, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage priorities effectively
