We are seeking two Mission Controllers to work at the EUMETSAT site in Germany, offering an excellent opportunity to join one of the world’s most highly regarded space agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate on a 24/7 shift basis on all or part of the mission control system, including elements of both the ground segment and the space segment.
  • Assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support ongoing operations.
  • In the event of a ground or space segment anomaly, take corrective action as necessary by applying the contingency and emergency procedures approved for the mission, ensuring spacecraft safety and continuity of service provision to users.
  • Participate in other operations-related activities, such as small system developments and procedure development or maintenance, upon request from the team.

Skills

  • Experience working with computer systems and strong PC literacy is required.
  • Adaptable, self-disciplined, and able to work calmly and accurately under conditions of stress.
  • The position requires working on a shift rota, including night shifts.
  • Must be able to integrate well within a small operations team.
  • Should have a solid background in a technical environment.
  • Ex-military personnel should have completed a service college apprenticeship in electronics or telecommunications and possess a background in avionics, air defence, air radar, communications, or another relevant area.
  • Preferably educated to BSc level in a relevant subject such as IT, Telecommunications, Physics, or Aerospace Engineering.
