As a Hard FM Project Manager in our Darrent Valley Hospital team, you’ll lead the safe, compliant, and effective delivery of Hard FM projects from early scoping to commissioning and handover. Your work will directly support colleagues and customers, helping create safe, efficient environments where vital services can thrive.

What you’ll do as a Hard FM Project Manager
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Manage multiple Hard FM projects and small programmes, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timescales.
- Develop service user briefs, feasibility reports, business cases, and project initiation documents.
- Produce project plans, specifications, tender documentation and work schedules, using digital tools where required.
- Co‑ordinate architects, consultants, engineers, ICT specialists and other professionals to ensure timelines, budgets, quality standards and compliance requirements are met.
- Ensure all projects align with CDM2015 legislation and RIBA Plan of Work, and follow relevant Serco governance and approval processes.
- Oversee contractor documentation, RAMS, qualifications and compliance checks, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
- Manage stakeholder relationships including clinical and non‑clinical colleagues, contractors and customer teams.
- Support commissioning, handover and post‑contract activities, ensuring full acceptance by user departments and internal support teams.
- Prepare progress reports, contribute to capital programming activity, and engage with project and programme boards.
- Work collaboratively with Serco colleagues across Fire, Energy, ICT, Procurement, Health and Safety and more, resolving issues to maintain project momentum.
Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Experience delivering Hard FM projects, including financial and contract management responsibilities.
- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience, with continued professional development.
- Working knowledge of CDM2015, statutory and non‑statutory compliance, and Hard FM processes.
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Experience using CAFM (Computer‑Aided Facilities Management) systems and Microsoft tools.
Vetting and checks:
A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
