Your Opportunity

We are looking for Assistant Technician Plumber to carryout preventative, corrective and breakdown

maintenance on plumbing pipework, equipment and systems, individually or as part of a technical team, within a designated area of Dubai Airports, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the airport operations.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Ability to conform to all general and technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the health, safety & welfare of self and others at work
  • Any other work as assigned by the supervisor / duty engineer to achieve the purpose.
  • Fair Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Can read interpret and describe the functionality of pipework schematics and system layout drawings
  • Can correctly setup and use test equipment and interpret the test results. to include: Manometer, Water pressure test kit – Dry, Water pressure test kit – Wet, Digital Multi meter (earth bond continuity) and Drain Cleaning Machine
  • Knowledge in the use & interpretation of Local and International Plumbing & Pipework Standards and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of assets such Pumps, pressure vessels, oil interceptors, backflow preventer assemblies, faucets and fixtures, water heaters, toilet fixtures and appliances.
  • Asset Maintenance Experience (Hands-on): Periodic preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, inspections, condition assessment, condition-based maintenance, corrective maintenance, configuration and modifications of pumps, pressure vessels, oil interceptors, backflow preventer assemblies, faucets and fixtures, water heaters, toilet fixtures and appliances.
  • Tasks Experience (Hands-on): Water heater servicing and repair, sump pump servicing and repair, sewer and drain line cleaning, faucet and fixture repair, installation, repair and maintenance of pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems and fixtures, installation and repair of plumbing fixtures including water heaters, sinks, toilets and appliances, functionality checks on pressure vessels, pump overhauling and repair.

 

Specific requirements

  • Industrial Training Institute Diploma 2 years in Pipe Fitting or Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Maintenance or equivalent (post high school)
  • IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent                                        
  • Minimum 3 year experience within a Facility Management or similar environment as Plumbing & Pump Technician.
  • Ability to safely and correctly perform safety isolations and LOTO, planned preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and breakdown maintenance (BD) on potable water pipework systems and associated valves, waste and drainage pipework systems, washroom sanitary fixtures and fittings, pressure reducing valve (PRV) stations, heat exchangers, calorifiers, storage-type water heaters, and aircraft potable water systems and associated valves.
  • Ability to safely and correctly perform safety isolations and LOTO, planned preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and breakdown maintenance (BD) on high-temperature hot water (HTHW) pipework systems and associated valves, chilled water pump (CWP) pipework systems and associated valves, sewage pumps and associated pipework, storm water pumps and associated pipework, including troubleshooting, repair, servicing, and operational testing.
