£45,000 – £55,000 per annum plus excellent benefits

As a BMS and Energy Engineer in our Health team, you'll lead the management, optimisation and development of Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure across the Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary estate. You'll help ensure critical engineering systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably while supporting energy performance, sustainability goals and exceptional healthcare environments.

What you'll do as a BMS and Energy Engineer

  • Act as the site lead for the Tridium Niagara Building Management System and associated controls infrastructure.
  • Monitor, maintain and optimise HVAC, ventilation, boiler, chilled water and associated building services systems to improve performance and reliability.
  • Analyse utility consumption data, identify energy-saving opportunities and support carbon reduction initiatives across the estate.
  • Produce energy performance reports and provide recommendations to Serco and NHS stakeholders.
  • Support lifecycle projects, commissioning activities and digital transformation initiatives involving smart building technologies and analytics.
  • Manage specialist contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is delivered safely, compliantly and to the required standards.

 

Does this sound like you?

  • HNC, HND or Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with Building Management Systems, including the operation or support of Tridium Niagara systems or an equivalent type system.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls, building services systems, automation principles and energy management practices.
  • Experience analysing technical and utility data, producing reports and identifying opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build trust and work effectively with stakeholders, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Vetting and checks

This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme, which involves a detailed check of spent and unspent convictions and other relevant information to ensure safeguarding compliance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can provide any necessary support to help you carry out your responsibilities.
