As a Plumber in our Health team, you'll help ensure critical plumbing systems and services remain safe, compliant and fully operational across Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. Your expertise will support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance that keeps essential healthcare facilities running smoothly.

What you’ll do as a plumber

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plumbing systems, sanitary ware, fixtures, fittings and associated equipment.
• Maintain domestic hot and cold-water systems, drainage systems, pumps, valves and water treatment equipment.
• Monitor, test, adjust and repair water systems while maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Work collaboratively with electrical, mechanical and civil trades to deliver effective maintenance solutions.
• Support refurbishment projects, upgrades and new installations across the hospital estate.
• Follow safe systems of work and contribute to health, safety, quality, environmental and information security standards.

Does this sound like you?

• Hold a recognised plumbing qualification or equivalent relevant certification.
• Experience within commercial buildings, healthcare facilities or a facilities management environment.
• Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems and associated equipment.
• Can work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Take pride in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high standards and working safely at all times.

Vetting and checks

This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme, which involves a detailed check of spent and unspent convictions and other relevant information to ensure safeguarding compliance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can provide any necessary support to help you carry out your responsibilities.
