We’re seeking Registered Nurses who are keen to join a multidisciplinary team as a bench registered nurse and deliver high-quality care to Defence members.

As a Bench Registered Nurse, you will be employed on a permanent full-time basis and provide flexible clinical support across SQLD Defence Health Centres as required. During business hours, you will remain available to provide coverage for planned leave, unexpected absences, or periods of increased demand. When no site coverage is required, you may work remotely.

About the Health Centre

Enoggera Health Centre, located at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane, is the primary base for this position and supports nearby facilities including Victoria, Bulimba, and Damascus Barracks. Established in 1908, Gallipoli Barracks is the largest military base in South Queensland, home to approximately 8,000 members and the Deployable Joint Force Headquarters.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver high quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations or monitor and manage patients in a low dependency ward setting
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, physios, mental health clinicians, and dental professionals
  • Support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management, and preventative care

What you bring

  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum one year Registered Nurse experience in acute care, primary health care or military setting
  • Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
  • Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)
  • Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient centred care
  • This role is primarily Monday to Friday, day shifts, working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and providing coverage for permanent staff leave on site.
