We currently have an exciting opportunity for Pre-Sales / Solution Architect in Europe (Flexible with the location).

Main Responsibilities

As a member of the European Bid and Solutions Team, the Solution Architect provides technical leadership and solution design expertise across infrastructure-focused bids and proposals.

He/she will work closely with Bid Writers, Bid Managers, Technical SMEs, and Contract Teams to develop compelling, technically sound and cost-effective solutions.

The duties include:

• Leading the technical solution design for infrastructure-focused bids (cloud, hosting, workplace, network, end-user services, and managed services).
• Translating customer requirements into clear, deliverable technical architectures and solution designs.
• Working closely with Bid Writers to ensure technical solutions are accurately and compellingly reflected in proposal documents.
• Identifying innovative and cost-effective delivery models, including automation, offshore delivery, and modern infrastructure approaches.
• Supporting pre-sales activities including solution shaping, customer workshops, and bid strategy sessions.
• Producing technical documentation including solution descriptions, architecture diagrams, and technical response inputs.
• Ensuring solutions are aligned with Serco dels to ensure technical solutions align with pricing strategy and margins.
• Supporting risk identification and mitigation across proposed technical solutions.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of bid response quality, technical libraries, and reusable solution assets.
• Providing technical governance and challenge throughout the bid lifecycle.
• Supporting handover of solutions into delivery teams post-award where required.

Successful Candidate

• Demonstrable experience as a Solution Architect, Pre-Sales Engineer, or Technical Lead within infrastructure or managed services environments.
• Strong background in infrastructure technologies (e.g., cloud platforms, virtualisation, networking, end-user computing, IT operations).
• Proven experience supporting or leading bid / tender / RFP processes.
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, structured solution designs.
• Strong understanding of cost modelling, service design, and commercial constraints.
• Excellent technical writing skills, with ability to produce high-quality bid content and architecture documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, deadline-driven bid environments.
• Highly organised, resilient under pressure, and able to manage multiple concurrent bids.
• Strong attention to detail with a structured and analytical mindset.
• Excellent command of English language (written and verbal).
• Additional European language skills are an advantage.
