Serco have a great opening for a Site Technical Manager to join the team in the Falkland Islands to support the maintenance various equipment at RRH Mount Kent.
Your main purpose will be to Lead a team to maintain the ASR, Park Air radios and L17 equipment at the RRH site ensuring that, quality compliance, safety, continuous improvement and other contractual obligations are met. You will manage the site Engineering, work services, cypto user and maintain the operational capability of the site.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Recognised as an experienced engineer within the business, providing specialist engineering advice, guidance and Management to the Serco site personnel in all areas of maintenance and fault investigation / rectification of the L16, Park Air G/A radios, and Air Supported Radome (ASR) Mechanical & Electrical systems.
- Responsible for delivering availability across multiple engineering apsects.
- Typically has 10 year experience of supporting engineering systems.
- Understands and delivers industry best practice with regards engineering support.
- Leads and manages to deliver availability at remote site.
- Deliver 1st/ 2nd line Preventative maintenance on the L16, Park Air radios and the ASR M&E
- Deliver 1st/ 2nd and 3rd line Corrective maintenance on the L16, Park Air radios and ASR M&E
- Responsible for quality compliance, safety, and engineering practices at the remote site.
- Engaging with the RAF customer and their representatives.
- Provide out of hours call out to support availability when required.
- Responsible for Liaising with DIO to deliver building custodian duties
- Responsible for Management all tools and test equipment required to support at radar site.
- Support the System Technical Manger
- Responsible for Management of Spares inventory at the site.
- Provide a site support to the OEMs when required
- Manage personnel to carryout non-technical tasks at the radar site
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Holds recognised Electronics and electrical Qualification.
- Required OEM technical training
- At least 10 years engineering experience
- Fully conversant with Serco governance policies and procedures.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with RAF personnel on the radar sites.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Proven track record in maintaining engineering systems
- Understanding RAF processes
- Proven practical and pragmatic understanding of service delivery.

- Understanding delivery of equipment availability
- Be able to obtain and maintain SC/DV Security clearance.
