Are you an experienced commercial contracts professional with a strong background in complex mobilisations and NEC contracts?
We're looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager to play a critical role in the mobilisation of a major, strategically important contract within our Secure Justice & Immigration business. This is a high-profile opportunity to provide commercial leadership throughout mobilisation, ensuring contractual obligations, risks, governance and stakeholder relationships are managed effectively from contract award through to service commencement.
This role will suit a commercially astute individual who has successfully supported large-scale mobilisation, transition or transformation programmes and is comfortable operating in fast-paced, complex and highly regulated environments. NEC experience is essential, as you will act as the commercial lead on NEC contractual arrangements and provide expert guidance to programme and operational teams throughout the mobilisation lifecycle.
As part of this you’ll:
- Lead commercial activities associated with the mobilisation of a major public sector contract.
- Act as the subject matter expert for NEC contractual mechanisms and provide guidance across the programme.
- Establish and maintain effective commercial governance, assurance and reporting processes.
- Support programme teams in interpreting contractual obligations, milestones, dependencies and acceptance criteria.
- Lead commercial engagement with customers, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Draft, negotiate and manage contractual correspondence, agreements, variations and change control activity.
- Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks throughout mobilisation.
- Support procurement and subcontracting activities, ensuring commercial alignment and value for money.
- Develop management information and reporting for senior governance forums.
- Support mobilisation leadership teams with commercial decision-making and strategic advice.
- Facilitate effective transition from mobilisation into operational service delivery.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Significant experience managing complex commercial or public sector contracts.
- Demonstrable experience supporting large-scale mobilisation, transition or transformation programmes.
- Strong commercial contracts background with proven contract management experience.
- Essential experience working with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts, including practical application and administration.
- Strong understanding of commercial risk management, governance and change control.
- Experience operating within regulated, critical service or complex programme environments.
- Excellent contractual drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to work at pace whilst managing competing priorities and programme deadlines.
